Karen's INCAredible Trek for a cure!

Looking back now, losing Steve in June 2009, just  two  weeks shy of his 29th birthday,  seems like a lifetime ago.  I would never have imagined that I would be attempting to embark on such an adventure to Peru with the goal of raising money for a charity that is dear to my heart.

After the heartache and pain of losing the most important person in my life, rather than be swallowed up in my grief, I have decided to use that energy and honour my late husband's memory by raising critical funds for cancer research.

This challenge is a way for me to ensure that Steven's legacy lives on. His desire for me to live my life to the fullest will always continue and I will carry this spirit with me on my trek.

The reason I have chosen to support Cure Cancer Australia is because of the amazing research they undertake, not only for a cure, but also trying to discover alternative treatments in assisting with the side effects that the cancer drugs can cause. 

Those who know my journey to date, know it has not been easy, and if there is anything I can do to try and spare someone else or their partner from the devastating disease, I am 100% dedicated to being a part of finding a cure!

I will be covering all the travel costs, so any donations, great or small, will go directly to Cure Cancer Australia, and all efforts to support my fundraising are deeply appreciated. Please feel free to forward on this page to family and friends :)

My event "INCAredible night for an INCAredible cause' was held at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf Pyrmont on the 4th March 2011 7:00pm. Thank you to everyone who attended for their generosity and support. It was an amazing night, and one that I will never forget!
